Memory Eternal: Marion Mihaly Fallon

Our dear parishioner and sister in Christ, Marion T. Fallon peacefully fell asleep in the Lord on Saturday September 10, 2016.

She was born on June 13, 1948 to the late Very Reverend Joseph Mihaly and Pani Gizella Mihaly and lived in Trumbull for her entire life. She was a Trumbull High Graduate, and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Upsala College and a Master’s Degree from Fairfield University. Throughout her career she taught at; St. Josephs in Brookfield, St Jude’s in Monroe, and was a substitute and summer school teacher for the Trumbull Public School system, and for the last fourteen years she taught at WestHill High School in Stamford.

Marion was known by everyone she loved as “Jo”. She was a lifelong member of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church in Stratford, and was a member of the Church Choir and the Ladies Guild. She had an infectious love and joy for life, the beach and good times with her friends and family.

Survivors include her loving children, Jesse Fallon of Stratford and Samantha Fallon of Southbury, as well as her beloved sister, Ilona and her husband Tom Decerbo of Trumbull and brother, Orestes Mihaly and his wife Kathy of Armonk, New York. She was predeceased by her brother and friend, Attorney Serge Mihaly. She also leaves behind her cherished grandson, Ty Rogerson who loved his GMA more than anyone in the world. Ty’s father Sean and his children, Taylor and Sean. She also leaves behind the news that brought her immense joy, that her first granddaughter, will be born in November to parents Jesse Fallon and Rebecca Stephenson.

Jo is also survived by her former husband, George Fallon of Lake Worth, Florida and his loving Family. Jo had 2 wonderful friends that she considered sisters, Diane Rowland and Georgianna Manzino. She had many cousins, nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.

The profound heartbreak that we feel can be comforted by her immense Faith and her Love for God. Her children would like to sincerely thank Dr. Howard Hochster and the Nurses at Smilow Hospital and the VNS of Trumbull for their guidance, love and care over the past few years.

Both calling hours and funeral services will take place in our parish.

May Almighty God rest the soul of His newly departed handmaiden, Marion in a peaceful place, where there is neither sickness, pain or sorrow, but Life Everlasting.  May her Memory Be Eternal,  Vichnaja Jej Pamjat!
